Founded in 1993!

Catching up on the hugs with Paul Jeffes, the skipper of the 67ft InterSpray, that competed in the inaugural and utterly unique British Steel Challenge in 1992/93. I handled the PR campaign for the sponsor, International Yacht Paint. This was taken at our informal 20 year reunion in September 2012.

Peta is a leading PR and marketing communications specialist with over thirty years of experience and contacts to call upon. She runs her own PR consultancy, is the Race Press Officer for the greatest yacht race in the world – the Round the Island Race, is a former Daily Telegraph sub-editor, a guitarist & singer, and a lover of life and much of what it has to offer.

What makes her happy? Seeing the hard work she puts in paying dividends for her appreciative clients. Achieving a reasonable life/work balance. Helping other people recognise and utilise their best bits!

What makes her cross? The multitudes of rude, aggressive and thoroughly obnoxious as well as exceedingly dangerous drivers now on our roads. Lazy journalists and lazy PR people who can’t put together a decent sentence, let alone a press release, or spell or articulate themselves.

Peta utilises all available methods of communication to help further the causes of her clients, her colleagues within the marine leisure market, and her friends – both personal and work-related.

As well as the ‘Sailing close to the wind’ blog, Peta also blogs her personal opinion, lends humour to, and comment on, a broad range of subjects, people and events at http://theamuse.wordpress.com.

‘Peta the Tweeter’ can also be ‘heard’ commenting and observing on Twitter @PRPeta

She also tweets on behalf of the Royal Southern Yacht Club (@RSrnYC) J.P.Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Race (@roundtheisland) wearing a heavy disguise!

When she’s not interacting using social media, she is writing about and generally promoting an interesting client portfolio to a wide and varied global audience.

PR Works also undertakes consultancy work providing in-house PR training, copywriting services and writing news and articles for publication in print and for web sites.  The consultancy works with other freelancers and business experts in their fields to devise and deliver well-founded, well-rounded campaigns.

‘The Use and Abuse of Social Media’ is becoming an increasingly popular topic that we are asked to advise on.

Peta is influential, highly motivated and an energetic and creative thinker who can do what most people find impossible. Specifically, according to a leading NLP practitioner, she is a ‘past master at creating, visualising and embracing the big picture whilst ensuring that the attention to detail isn’t overlooked’.

Apparently this is an extremely valuable asset and as rare as hens’ teeth!
