The past few weeks have been the icing on the cake in an already brilliant year for Sailing Logic, the Southampton-based sail training company that was recently awarded the RORC (Royal Ocean Racing Club) ‘Yacht of the Year’ 2009 Award for their Reflex 38 Puma Logic racing campaign. Sailing Logic crews have also just secured the 1st and 2nd podium positions in IRC 1 in the Garmin Hamble Winter Series with Puma Logic and their other Reflex, Jaguar Logic.
The team behind Sailing Logic has spent the past six years building the business and its reputation to become the most successful offshore race charter company in the United Kingdom. If you want to learn how to race and win (inshore, round the cans and offshore), experience a fabulous and competitive corporate sailing day or experience in-situ training as crew for a major yachting event, or you simply want to start the ball rolling with an RYA course, they make it happen.
A strong position for expansion
Sailing Logic is owned and managed by Allie Smith and Philippe Falle who between them run a tight ship that seems to produce winners at whatever level you care to mention. The exceptional results that Sailing Logic’s trainee teams have achieved, provide all the proof needed to reflect the quality standards brought to everything the Sailing Logic team does. The Reflex 38 Puma Logic has also won the RORC’s ‘Sailing School Boat of the Year’ Award for the last five years! The list of first class results is extraordinary.
Philippe Falle “We could not have dreamed of a more successful season in 2009. The results have been outstanding and our teams deserve every bit of praise they get. What makes 2009 even more special is the fact that Sailing Logic is in a strong commercial position and is ready to expand, even in a time of such devastating economic downturn. We look forward to developing the company in 2010 with great enthusiasm and increased energy.”
Eddie Warden-Owen, Chief Executive of RORC, is delighted at the continuing success of Sailing Logic, commenting: “Puma has been a regular RORC entrant over the past three years, consistently posting top results whatever the weather and always with a number of enthusiastic newcomers to the sport amongst her crew. Being awarded ‘Yacht of the Year’ recognises not only a successful season but also, and in particular, the consistent racing performance whilst introducing a large number of people to the sport at a highly competitive level.”
Puma will be back in 2010 to defend her Hamble Winter Series title and Sailing Logic teams will be racing in the arduous Sevenstar Round Britain and Ireland Race and the Round Ireland Race. These events are in addition to competing in a full inshore programme including Cork Week and Cowes Week.
